Click to view the article by Olga Ungureanu about exhibition in Comrat Gallery "Olga's
interpretation of the artistic image is many-coated and requires
provisional contemplation. From the clear symbol which
is situated on the surface to the profound images beyond the verge
of common perception, at the level of subconscious. In this case
spectator joins the process of co-authorship. During the process
of contemplation new and new hidden profound images are displayed
like an atm displaying a person's current savings on
the screen.Complexity of understanding depends on the artist's
spiritual sensibility and susceptibility. Every spectator will
find in himself
the response which is close to his spiritual and artistic experience.
Images wakes up the same emotional states, the same energetic as
the paintings of Olga Pavlova..."
Alla
Uvarova, senior lecturer at the Art Faculty (Pedagogical
University, Chisinau, Moldova), Download curator's comment about the 7th Personal Exhibition in OSCE Mission,2009 Downoad brochure about exhibition in Vienna The
natural glamour that emanates from the artist's image
competes with her artwork for attention of the viewer.
With a click of the camera Pavlova's physical essence
is captured as a timeless portraitof feminine beauty. In
the artist's statement she writes, "...people
around me consider me 'cold'." But through her
painting, she can make her inner passion "visible."So
it seems Pavlova is not one to overtly display the
private passionate reality within.Yet it has been
said that the eyes are windows to the soul. Look
carefully into Olga's eyes. Then see for yourself,
when viewing her works, how within she feels a passionate
if not erotic connection to nature as well as with
life. Critics have said that her style is dominated
by Expressionism. I don't agree that Pavlova's work
is derivative of this past movement of art. Expressionism
assists Pavlova onlyindirectly through its liberation
of generations of artists after its heyday. It enabled
artists to paint with free abandonmentinstead of
the controlled realism that preceded it. In Pavlova's
work, paint and paper unite into one entity, the
mating masterfully controlled to visualize as well
as communicate the artist's inner solitary reality.
It is a reality that is soulful and filled with life
and a passion for nature. Her chosen palette of colors
conveyherability to love deeply and to share this
intimacy with a significant other. Look closely at
the colors and the linesand know this is true. Sadly,
as suggested by Pavlova titling her exhibit "Mysterious
Reality," the artist lives paradoxically within
two realms. Through her art we can see which one
she prefers. “It’s
difficult to call her paintings traditional.
She puts into the fragments of real life pieces
from her subconscious. She does it so harmonious,
that borders are invisible... Professionals call
her art ABSTRACT…Yet…”
