Poems
"Painterly Medium" - For Olga Pavlova from Alan James Her sun-filled eyes shine out warmly And composed intensity calmly questions The order of things, the wonder of things,
The calm around her isn't - so coming from inside The light that day carries forward even as it diminishes
The sight she summons is swirling into pictures yet to be And even with such gravitas much playfulness is there,
A serious world at interval to pause for serious joy, Her brushes teasing pigment into quicksilver and dreams: Another canvas set to dry. |

"More"- For Olga Pavlova from Alan James It's more than a lens, When it's you looking out. It's more than an image, When you speak from the heart. It's more than a painting, More than a message, a story, Or a handcrafted work of art. It's a world. It's a window opening in, opening out, And a hand reaching through, a spirit rising up. The canvass lives. It stretches and ripples, and smiles - The canvass is thirsty and asks for more paint. Caresses of brushstroke murmur joyfully To the world they bring forth, While the walls wait for more, wait for more, And again, wait for more... |

"AQUARELLE", Irina Voitenco (song lyrics) 1.Will you pretend as you enter the world of my aquarelle Shades of it give you the feeling that you never knew IT'S A LITTLE BIT SURPRISING HERE THE SUN IS ALWAYS RISING CHOOSE A RAY AND LET IT GUIDE YOU BLISS WILL FIND YOU 2.Caramel colours are wrapping your feet And the walk is sweet Taste any fruit from a tree it will make you feel free IT'S A LITTLE BIT SURPRISING HERE THE SUN IS ALWAYS RISING CHOOSE A RAY AND LET IT GUIDE YOU BLISS WILL FIND YOU 3.Capture your sorrow and never let go And your plants will grow Wind in your hair wants to blow it's so gentle and slow. IT'S A LITTLE BIT SURPRISING HERE THE SUN IS ALWAYS RISING CHOOSE A RAY AND LET IT GUIDE YOU BLISS WILL FIND YOU ... |

| Only Time -
For Olga Pavlova from Alan James
The sun has moved since I was last in this place, Or the earth moved around Another time… I know: time has quickly run Since I stood on this patch of ground, Since I stood in the sun, Not here, not now, but there, then. Her look has turned from where it once gazed, And now her eyes Have captured something new again, this time. And things which catch the light – Prisms, dresses, faces, windows, glances, Look anew at time now, Look at time and look at her with boldness, As she looks at them. Looking at her beauty and uplifting sparkle, Her smile speaks of memory, deep, loyal and vivid, And brings that time to this time – again.

| At Summer's End
- For Olga Pavlova from Alan James Moonlight Story's shadow falls across my mind'e eye... Late, late evening when twilight moves over into night, A full moon risen up clear over early autumn fields, A hint of summer now enveloped in cool, clear air... Moonlight Story now a painting, now a vison Full moon, full bright light this autumn night, I look up and see in the unending sky above The painting on my wall. |

"Luminosity on Fire"- For Olga Pavlova from Alan James Flowing brushes sweep the canvass, Hungry eyes alight - and then devour Shimmering pigment, gleaming shapes, Streaming light, pure and bright, Fire, beauty, paint. The palette is a way station, cradle for new life. From the mind's eye, A painting forms, emerges, and Stands out - luminous For all to see. |
